THE 4TH NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION SHOW (NAES) 2025

  The Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) in collaboration with the Uganda National  Farmers Federation (UNFFE) and Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries  (MAAIF), is organizing the 4th National Agricultural Education Show (NAES) 2025scheduled for 6 th to 12 th July 2025 at the Jinja National Agriculture Show grounds. The 4 th edition of NAES is aligned with the Ministry’s Competency-based Lower Secondary Curriculum, which emphasizes Project-Based Learning (PBL) and the acquisition of 21 st Century skills including critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy, and problem-solving.

The theme for 2025: “Seeds of Change: Young People Driving Innovations to Harness Agricultural Wealth.”

Overall Goal;  To promote, attract and retain young people below the age of 39 years in Agriculture by  building a generation that is knowledgeable, skilled and passionate about agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship.

Core Activities

Practical demonstrations of modern agricultural technologies; Innovation and skills-based competitions; Career mentor-ship, seminars, and workshops; Policy dialogues on agricultural education; Hands-on training in agribusiness and Cultural showcases and awards.

In addition to the demonstration, the NAES offers opportunities for students at all levels tocompete in Debates, Essays and Poems. Special sessions focusing on cross cutting issues

such as environment, awareness, citizenship, patriotism and values like integrity, honesty and harmony are conducted.

Date: This event is scheduled to take place from 6 th to 12 th July 2025 at the National Agricultural Show Grounds in Jinja.

Venue: Jinja National Agriculture Show grounds are the designated National Agriculture Show  Demonstrations mandated by the Ministry of Agriculture Animal industry and Fisheries. The Show Grounds have an estimated area of 25 Acres with 15 acres allocated to permanent Agriculture Demonstrations. These demonstrations cater for both crops and livestock practical practices.

TARGET GROUP: The NAES targets pre-primary, primary and secondary school learners, tertiary institutions , universities across Uganda, Teachers and Agricultural instructors, youth in agriculture(below 39 years), development partners, policy makers, researchers and the private sector.

EXPECTED ATTENDANCE: An estimated 200,000 participants, including over 100 exhibiting schools and numerous visitors from academia, government, and private sector.
