(i) to set, define and review standards in educational
practice and provision
(ii) to assess the achievement of standards and to
evaluate the effectiveness of educational programmes of institutions and
agencies across Uganda
(iii) to develop systematic approaches to inspection and
evaluation and self evaluation systems using appropriate quality indicators
within the educational service
(iv) to provide and disseminate regular reports on the
quality of education at all levels
(v)
to develop the use of the reports as a mechanism to provide support for and
dissemination of good practice and to improve the quality of practice in the
education service
