Mandate:

To advise on policies and spearhead the development of higher education. Has got 2 divisions ;each headed by an assistant commissioner namely ;

  1. Universities and polytechnics
  2. Admissions an scholarships.

Key Outputs:

  • Appropriate policies, plans and guidelines in respect of Higher Education, admissions and scholarships formulated and implemented
  • A developed and coordinated higher education system that produces adequate skilled manpower for national development.
  • A coordinated and fair system for admitting students into institutions of higher learning.
  • A transparent and fair mechanism for managing scholarships.
  • Mechanisms for development of higher education in collaboration with other stakeholders Scholarships are available;
